TCS Teacher, Ms. Angie Jennings, Attends Reception at the Governor's Mansion

We're thrilled to announce that TCS has been chosen once again to represent our region at a prestigious reception at the Governor's Mansion in Raleigh! Ms. Angie Jennings, who has been selected as one of our regional representatives, had the privilege of interacting with representatives from the governor's office, Morehead Planetarium, UNC Chapel Hill, the SciFest organization, and RTI International, who spoke with teachers and other stakeholders about the importance of rigorous and relevant STEM education.

This opportunity allows for collaboration among other school systems on innovative approaches to providing cutting-edge science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) education to our students. This collaboration is facilitated through the SciMatch program, a unique initiative established by UNC Chapel Hill and the Morehead Planetarium, which connects our schools with local scientists from East Carolina University (ECU).

The SciMatch program is a valuable resource that fosters collaboration and knowledge sharing, ultimately benefiting our students with access to engaging and enriching STEM experiences. We are confident that Ms. Jennings' participation in this program will bring valuable knowledge and resources back to our community.

Here are some of the photos taken from the reception.
