Standard Response Protocol

Standard Response Protocol (SRP) from The "I Love U Guys" Foundation

We are excited to share a valuable resource with our school community: the Standard Response Protocol (SRP) from The "I Love U Guys" Foundation. Tyrrell County Schools folllows this protocol to enhance safety across our schools by teaching students and staff how to respond effectively to various emergency situations.

The SRP provides clear, common language to ensure everyone knows what to do in different scenarios, such as a lockdown or evacuation. It involves five key actions: Hold, Secure, Lockdown, Evacuate, and Shelter. Each action is practiced regularly to ensure our schools remain a safe environment for learning.

We encourage families to review the SRP Parent Handout and stay informed about the important procedures we follow to protect our students and staff. Your support in understanding these protocols helps us maintain a secure and prepared school district.

Please look for more communications regarding this to come home with your child(ren) next week. Let's work together to keep our schools safe!
