Ms. Rollinson’s 5th graders took the Ping Pong Ball Engineering Challenge issued by Science Buddies in the TES library this week. The goal is to create a tool that will pick up the ping pong ball from the greatest distance possible and to make the highest score, which is calculated by the length of your tool minus the amount of material used to make it. Our high score was 43 points made by David. The class had a great time trying (and retrying) different designs. It’s harder than you think!
