Department of Public Instruction awards certificates for academic growth and graduation rates

The Department of Public Instruction (DPI) recognized Tyrrell County Schools for our outstanding performance during the 2022-23 school year. In a letter to Superintendent Dr. Karen Roseboro, DPI officials congratulated CHS & CMS for achieving expected academic growth and TES for exceeding expected academic growth.  In addition, CHS was congratulated for their success in graduating students.

"Whether for academic growth or graduation rate, these certificates showcase the dedication to academic achievement in your school system of both students and educators," the DPI wrote in the letter. "However you choose to distribute and celebrate these awards, please share the appreciation and congratulations from the entire Department of Public Instruction and the State Board of Education with everyone in your district."

This is a significant recognition for Tyrrell County Schools, and it is a testament to the hard work and dedication of students, educators, and administrators. The DPI's awards program is a way to celebrate the successes of our schools and to encourage continued excellence in the years to come.
