Statement from the Director of Operations
The field trip for Columbia Middle and High School students scheduled for April 22nd to Greensboro was canceled earlier this morning after the charter bus failed to pass its required inspection. Tyrrell County Schools places the highest priority on the safety and well-being of our students and staff. Based on this concern, it was determined that canceling the trip was the most appropriate course of action.
We understand the disappointment this may cause; however, student and staff safety must always come first. We are actively working to reschedule the trip and secure transportation through a different charter bus company that meets all safety standards.
